Hi Claudio,

I'm in Frankfurt, last stop in Germany of this tour and Vienna is next. I had some merchandise made for the tour and it's now available on-line too, through my official store at recordstore. co.uk/robingibb . There's a whole product line including several tees, a mouse pad, posters and a towel. I have some autographed tourprogrammes in the store too and soon we'll be offering a limited number of the tour jackets which we had made for crew members.
After the concerts in Austria I'm doing a show in Minsk. And in August, I will play at a festival on the Faroes and 2 dates at Ledreborg Castle in Denmark. The Danish shows will be recorded and broadcast on local TV.
I'm also still campaigning for the Bomber Command Memorial. In order to raise the final funds, I'm giving the previously announced concert with Bill Wymann June 20th in London, and on September 6th I will once again open the gardens of my house in Thame for afternoon tea. Tickets for both events can be ordered at the Heritage Foundation. Hope to see many of you there!
On May 29th, I'm scheduled as a studio guest at the Britain Got More Talent show on ITV2. Finally, do keep an eye out for some new covers of Bee Gees songs that are coming out soon, I Started A Joke by Tom Jones, Love You Inside Out by a new British artist called Rachel Bell, and, a new version of Too Much Heaven by UK soul diva Beverly Knight on which I'm singing too.

Em entrevista à Epoca, os Jonas Brothers mais uma vez reafirmaram sua admiração pelos Bee Gees. Eles se tornaram inclusive amigos do Barry, que, segundo disseram, já deu alguns bons conselhos a eles. Mas isso não está na entrevista.

ÉPOCA - Quando você e seus irmãos estão compondo, vocês tentam soar de alguma maneira? O que acha das comparações com as boy bands dos anos 90?
Nick Jonas - Nos vemos com um grupo de pop-rock. Não nos apegamos a coreografias de dança, ou coisas do gênero. Tentamos fazer rock. Somos classificados como boy band por causa da reação das garotas, mas nosso som é rock e pop. Quando começamos a fazer música prestamos atenção em grupos como 'N Sync e Backstreet Boys. Mas nossa inspiração vem muito mais do rock e do pop. Temos muito mais a ver com os Bee Gees, por exemplo. Adoro aquelas harminas, o jeito como se reinventam.

Staying Alive

Bee Gee Robin Gibb met budding young film-makers in Bracknell and handed out a special anti-knife crime film award.

Robin Gibb from legendary group The Bee Gees gave Bracknell school kids the thumbs-up after they won a special anti-knife crime film award.
The singer turned up to Ranelagh School to hand over the prize to children from the digital animation club, who created a powerful 30-second silent film that warns youngsters about the dangers of carrying knives.
He tells BBC Berkshire: "Clearly the children are the future and the backbone of the society in this country.
"We know that knife crime is out of control and we need to have more young people being conscious about that.
"Society as a whole has to take on a responsible role for this and young people play a major part in this."
The club won the Bracknell Forest Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership's community TV film competition, and part of the prize includes having their film showcased on big screens across the Bracknell Forest borough.
Twelve-year-old Lee, who helped with creating "bits of blood slowly falling off a knife and then forming a sad face", says: "It feels great, it's triumphant, you know that your work is valued and that people are enjoying it."
The film will be seen from the middle of May 2009 on the 10 community TV screens across the borough, including Bracknell Leisure Centre, Bracknell and Wokingham College and Edgbarrow Sports Centre.
It will also be shown on the council's BBC Berkshire's website.
The prize includes a digital camcorder for the school, which was presented by Robin Gibb on Thursday 23 April.
The school's artist-in-residence Konrad Wellz commended the pupils for their professionalism.
He adds: "We got lots of brochures from the police about knife crime and lots of them were really shocking, so we were trying to find something not too preachy for young people and not too brutal, so we found this was good fun but serious at the same time, if that's possible.
"Obviously it means a great deal to us, the animation club has been going for two years so they're over the moon. I think they're all gobsmacked to be honest."
Robin Gibb, who happily posed with the triumphant children throughout the afternoon, says: "The future is not to carry a weapon but to praise and encourage and support those people that you think are special and to go forward with a good heart."

Sempre com base nos copyrights registrados, Joe Brennan listou em seu site as músicas do suposto novo álbum do Robin que era para sair em outubro mas que por enquanto caiu no esquecimento. Os direitos autorais foram registrados em novembro de 2008 nos EUA.
Aparentemente, tem algumas músicas antigas aí que teriam sido retrabalhdas (espero que, ao contrário do que foi feito no Magnet, para melhor).

A versão LP vinvil duplo do álbum Odessa da Rhino está à venda desde abril.
No entanto, ao contrário do que foi feito com o box 1967-1968, foi suprimido o disco dos extras, que é exatamente o que há de mais interessante.
O resultado é uma versão igual à original do álbum, com capa de papel aveludado e os dois discos de sempre, na versão 180g.
Interessante, porém abaixo da expectativa, especialmente para quem já tem na coleção edições originais aveluladas de 69.

BEE GEES star BARRY GIBB has refused to let one of the band's songs be used in an AIDS awareness advert - insisting the cover version sounds too similar to the original.
A new recording of the Bee Gees' Staying Alive was made using the cast of touring stage show Thank You For The Music to be used as part of a major health campaign across Europe.
But the musician's representatives at the Warner music company have banned organisers from using the song in a conflict over publishing rights.
Martin Spooner, who plays Gibb's brother Robin in the stage show, says, "I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Although we miss out on a lucrative TV deal we take this as a back-handed compliment that we sound too much like the Bee Gees. But it's disappointing too because it was a major campaign for a worthwhile cause. It never occurred to us there would be a problem."
